Heading West_15

Talk about this place named Hussong's

On Saturday night, we met up at the Bob & Shirly Colonial Motel  and it was feeding time at the All you can eat feast at the House of Pies. Bob loved Disneyland, and he kept talking about some place in Mexico we "have to check out,in fact two separate people today who picked me up recommended it. It is south of Tijuana in a town called Ensenda, and its called Hussong's"

Yea right. Sure Bob.

I think the special this night was some kind of meatloaf with lots of mashed potatoes. Bob asked me about Huntington Beach and if the surf shops were better, and I told him about my ride on a chopper. He had gotten a couple of rides from some local kids, and he went on and on about Hussong's.

"I think its fitting that we head down to Mexico, get in a fight, get thrown in jail and try to work our way back across the border."

Now this was a guy who was fearless.

On the Ft. Lauderdale trip, he had jumped a wire fence and tried to chase a few bulls around some ranch in northern Florida. He had also bounced around Europe the previous summer, starting out in the Sorbonne in Paris, and winding up with some crazy Greek radicals demonstrating against the Greek government in Athens, at the other end of the summer. Bob lived in the moment. He was fearless in a safe manner, but was game for anything fun.

He insisted: "We have to get to Hussongs"
